Radio Can't Smell!

Day Five.

Disaster has struck.

I'm exaggerating, but we did hit our first real obstacle today. Weather conditions along the route from Aspen to Denver were severe enough to require snow chains, causing a delay on the road which forced us to push our date with KTCL back a few hours, which then meant that instead of stopping by KTCL on the way to the Ogden, we had to bus directly to the Ogden so the crew could load in and start setting the stage while the band caught rides back to the radio station to perform a few songs.

I still have yet to shower today.

Of course, we still have the rest of our typical workday duties ahead of us as well. Sound check, meet & greet, show, GTFO. In a fun twist, our friends in Galactic are here in Denver tonight as well, playing about two blocks down the street at the Fillmore. Not sure how our schedules overlap yet, but I imagine there will be a warm embrace or two at some point.

I can't believe it's only day five. The Tour Time-Compression Phenomenon is already in full effect. I've lost track of all of my interrogative pronouns- what, where, when, etc. Maybe I'm just sleepy and/or hungover from Aspen last night. The Belly Up is always fun, and it gets even funner when we have a pre-show Roots of Music benefit party and a post-show Packy Norton party, followed by a seven AM "stop the bus and affix a bunch of metal to the bus tires because safety, but also now the place where you sleep bounces up and down and makes an awful racket while it trundles through the snow at fifteen miles per hour” party.

I need a nap.

(Don't worry, the show tonight is going to be awesome. It's impossible to feel tired when you've got Con Brio sharing the stage.)
