It has only been two days since the ancient behemoth known as "The Jazz Fest” concluded its annual descent upon our fair city and departed back into the aether, where it will spend the next twelve lunar revolutions dreaming beyond the veil of time itself, siphoning the raw potential energy of the universe and gathering the power necessary to sustain its age-old cycle of destruction and creation through the following year.

I have never been to New Orleans but it’s on my short list of ‘places to visit before I die’. It’s a proud city of unique heritage and culture like no other in the country. New Orleans also generates some of the most dynamic and celebratory styles of music in the world.

Nearly any good band from the era of Classic Rock had an outstanding front-man. Every good band needs someone who can really connect with the crowd on a personal level. Perhaps one of the biggest setbacks of this era in live music is the absence of a good vocal front-man. David Shaw of the Revivalists is at the forefront of top lead vocalists on the live music scene.
